Peter Thompson

Peter has more than 20 years’ leadership experience to board level in a variety of business areas including Sales and Marketing, Culture Development and personal growth through Learning and Development.  In the 4 years to August 2007 he was the HR Director of Hilti GB Ltd, a privately owned multinational with 600 people in GB and Ireland. 

Since then he has been working as a coach and facilitator strengthening leadership capability in individuals and organisations.

His broad commercial experience coupled with a pragmatic approach helps his clients translate strategic direction into practical behaviours. His track record reflects his interest in developing leadership skills in people to achieve for themselves. 


His areas of particular interest and experience are:

  • objective focussed development coaching to release potential
  • facilitation to strengthen Team Effectiveness
  • navigation of change at a personal, team and organisational level
  • assessment and development of Leaders to leverage strengths

His recent sector experience includes agrochemicals, financial services, pharmaceuticals, FMCG, manufacturing, third sector and professional services.

Peter is a member of the Associating for Coaching and has an HND in Mechanical Engineering from Huddersfield.  He is a mentor for Business in the Arts, Trustee of Hope Through Action and an active member of Knutsford Methodist Church.
